Ladies Committee at Orphan Welfare Society organized a lecture entitled "How to Delay Alzheimer," delivered by a specialist neurological and psychiatric diseases and fellow Ervine University in California, Dr. Mahmoud Kreidie, at Hajj Hassan Makkaoui Hall at Saida Generation School, where a number of women from Saida city and Beirut attended the event.
First of all, Dr. Said El-Makkaoui, president of OWS, welcomed Dr. Kreidie and thanked the audience for their support of OWS, especially that the proceeds of the lecture is to support the Sponsorship Program, which includes sponsoring an orphan ($ 1,500), sponsoring a child at SGS ($ 1,000) and sponsoring a special needs student ($ 2,000).
Dr. Kreidie explained, during the lecture, the causes of Alzheimer, then told the audience how to delay the disease through: early examination with a specialist, adequate sleep, healthy food, taking vitamins, brain stimulation, Sports, etc... Dr. Kreidie assured that there is no cure for Alzheimer's, but there are studies and research taking place in order to find effective ways to delay it.The lecture was followed by a number of questions from the audience, in addition to a lunch prepared by OWS dietary team and the students of the culinary class at the Vocational School. Also, the photography students took photos during the event.
