Hosted by the children of the Sidon Orphan Welfare Society, Lebanese singer Carole Samaha as a Goodwill Ambassador for the International Network for Rights and Development (GRND) visited the association last Wednesday.
The artist Carole Samaha had a tour around the sections of the organization and had an idea about all the services provided to the children, accompanied by the board Member Mr. Walid Makkawi and a group of Ladies committee.
At the end of the tour, a press conference was held by Samaha where she expressed its admiration of all sections and said: "Quite frankly I was surprised by what I saw and I do not consider it an orphanage, it is a big house." In turn, Mr. Walid Makkawi welcomed Mrs. Samaha and noted its initiative to support the association.
Makkawi announced that Mrs. Samaha will support the campaign “School Bag”for the next academic year, a campaign that includes a school bag with books and stationery for about 700 students at the Saida Generation School (SGS).
Samaha valued the role of the association in helping these children and announced: "I will not only help through GRND but I will ask my fans on facebook page to support Sidon Orphan Welfare Society
Mr. Makkawi presented the trophe for Mrs. Samaha and she ended her visit by distributing the gifts to the children.
